Mods - KO Dozer (Gobots)

This KO Gobot is an old one, it was packaged with the KO Micromasters Gestalt pack. Very neat little piece...

But when I realised that ROTF Dirtboss (also a construction vehicle) has arm-blades, I decided to give this fella some similar weapons too... Used thick polystyrene pieces, and the old Tamiya pins... after some struggle...

...bot mode...

... Blade mode!!!!!!!!!

Mods - KO Oversized Legends Evac (Not The Largest Version)

The last of the KO Oversized Legends Pack that I got last year... This is one size smaller than the KO Oversized Legends Evac that I got earlier, so now I got sizes of Evac, including the LOC sized... Did not like the idea of removing the blades for transformation... then figure out that if I can make the cannons swivel to back, then no need to remove blades to transform...

So basically, I need to :
(1) Saw off the cannons
(2) Place a thick polystyrene to cover the hole on cannon (top, which is also seen as the contact piece between the cannon to the black back-piece) after sawing off. Trim.
(3) Drill a hole through the polystyrene piece to fit in a screw. Note the screw will be inserted from the bottom. The screw should not have a too big head.
(4) Drill pilot holes at the black back-piece.
(5) Screw the parts together. (Note: Sine screws are still moving, I cheated and used a bit of super-glue to secure the screw to the black back-piece.)

There, the cannons can now swivel back.

Transform to robot... back view...

Front view of robot mode...

"Power up!"

Dunno which should I mod next...

Mods - KO Oversized Movie Legends Bonecrusher

Got some time before going back to camp, so decided to finish up my touch up on the KO Oversized Movie Legends Bonecrusher. It is a cute little piece, except the hands seemed to be surrounded by the ... ladder? Anyway, was inspired by ROTF TFs' bladed arms, like Sideswipe, Dirtboss, etc, and also gotten earlier a KO Double-Blade Optimus Prime, so decided to bash the "ladder" to look like blades.... Picture below shows how this KO (right of picture) looks like initially when I bought it...

Picture below shows the hands which is normal (left of pic) and 80%-bashed (right of pic, obvious, hahaha... ) Used 2 pieces of thick polystyrene to make the connector piece, and screw to the "blade" from the exterior side so the blade can swivel...

... Vehicle mode... joints are quite tight...

... "ladder" still can be at original position... looks nicer with silver paint...

...Bot mode!!! "Ladder" are now "blades"!!!!!!!! ... I actually added a piece of polystyrene at the hips to make the hips/legs stay in place in vehicle mode... not as good as expected but will do...

Now can do slashing action!!!!

Ok, going back to camp soon... sigh... Range... will be a long day tomorrow... but after that will be ok liao! Looking forward to Wednesday...

Side-Tracked: Recent Haul of KOs (44) - KO Oversized Voyager Animated Optimus Prime, KO G2 Grimlock (remold), KO Dogfight

My reservist weekend break, so went to Bedok Central to jalan, and bought quite some KOs... Got (all KOs) : (1) Oversized Voyager Animated Optimus Prime (2) Blue-coloured G2 Grimlock which is quite remolded (3) Dogfight (4) micro-sized Thomas Train Combiners (for my little nephew).

KO Oversized Voyager Animated Optimus Prime
This is a voyager Animated OP but oversized to about leader-sized... Actually thought of getting it last week already, to complement my Oversized Henkei Smokescreen, but hesitated, because thought may get ROTF Optimus Prime... but then, the price of ROTF Optimus Prime is still so high, so bought this instead... Price tag says (all prices in SGD in this blog, unless otherwise stated) $19.90 but cashier told me $11.90... wow, saves $8!!!

Includes a VCD but not sure what is the content...

KO G2 Grimlock
So happy when I saw this piece. I thought I'll identify it as G2 Grimlock as it is blue in colour. Finally I can own a mold of G1 Grimlock... or 70%... because it is quit remolded on many parts... the (oversized) head remold is an obvious, have to swivel out the fists instead of pushing in the dino legs (long arms in bot mode, a bit weird), and they also added him Godzilla-like back fins, 3 claws on dino feet instead of 2, hollow upper legs, bigger dino hands/claws with movable elbow joints! How cool is that?!! But may need to make the claws shorter to look more like the real one... see how it goes first... Cost? $10 only...

KO Dogfight
Yes, I bought him because (1) the 2 other Dogfights I have are really too bright in (yellow, red) colours (2) the colours of this piece is slightly closer to the real one, compared to the other 2 Dogfights (3) it is cheap ($1.60), even cheaper than my other 2 Dogfights ($2 each)! Hands are assembled opposite, but can be swapped easily...

Micro-sized Thomas Train Combiner
I did not put it in the title of this post as I had intended to buy this for my little nephew. Did not realised this is the combinable version until I flip to see the back has a combined robot mode picture... don't know what will be the 3 trains' fate once my "decepticon" nephew gets hold of it, but hey, for only $2.90, it is quite expendable... hahaha...

Side-Tracked: Recent Haul of KOs (43) - KO Oversized ROTF Devastator, KO Oversized Henkei Smokescreen

KO Oversized ROTF Legends Devastator
Went to Bugis just now to pray and shop with my folk, and saw these KOs. Immediately bought the KO Oversized ROTF Legends Devastator, and considered a long time before buying the KO Oversized Classics Smokescreen.

This is what many TF toy collectors would want from Hasbro, when Hasbro released the big size ROTF Devastator whose individual components cannot transform, and the legends ones were too small. Very happy when I bought the KO Legends version from kotoys.com, so much so that I started to feel like getting the oversized version one. So can imagine how happy I am when I saw this (Edit: Bro Dasaman, I gotto eat my words, cannot resist this oversized set after seeing it with my own eyes, hahaha...) !!! Cost me $22.90, but the owner charge $22 only. (Save quite a lot compared to if I am to order to from kotoys.com...)

The back of card cheated!!!! The pictures are not the legends ones! Hahaha...

Size comparison with the legends version (also KO)... funny, that the smaller ones are more expensive than the oversized ones, hahaha... yes, I bought a ROTF DVD too, its not KO...

KO Oversized Classics Henkei Smokescreen
Deluxe to ... Leader-sized? It is bigger than the KO Oversized Classics Sideswipe hung besides it... So I presume this is near leader-sized... .. ok, maybe more of Alternators' size sorry, just saw a picture comparison of Oversize Legends Devastator vs ROTF Leader Optimus Prime, and since this Smokescreen is same size as the Oversize Devastator, it should also be same size as the ROTF Leader Optimus Prime... Wait... he has silver-chromed missiles and rifle!!! Is he a Henkei Oversized???? ... Cost is $15.90, and again, the kind owner charges me only $14... thank you!! .. and yeap, save a lot again, if I am to buy from kotoys.com .... now don't be mistaken that kotys.com is overcharging, but they have to take into consideration of their profits and shipping, etc... And I am still tempted to order the "Dragon Beast Gen 1 Blue Grimlock", if I can find more KOs to order together...

Mods - KO Longview, Speed Dial, Oversize Legend (TFTM) Prime, Brawl, Shattered Glass Goldbug

KO Longview (TFTM - Real Gears)
Surprisingly, this piece is made of the non-superglue-able plastic... got to use the Selleys Plastic Glue.. and the joints are weird, extremely difficult to get them to be tight, because they are indeed, flexible... sigh... anyway, tried my best... but still in the end it couldn't stand. Realised because the feet is loose.. so put in a plastic pin (can see the yellow one, left in pic below?) and drill a small hole to fit in.. finally can stand...

KO Speed Dial (TFTM - Real Gears)
The colour scheme is not really Speed Dial, can't remember which one... anyway, this KO has no face cover, so face is revealed in phone mode... so made a face cover at the back instead... at least now face cannot be seen... easily...

Oversize Legend (TFTM) Optimus Prime
Pic below shows the raw KO form... oversize legends figures... quite nice...

Vehicle mode - Repainted the smokestack silver, touch up the rest of silver parts (tyre rims too) ... added blue windows (finally, my light blue paint got its use), and touch up very loose parts...

Robot mode - painted the head too... also the chest to red (had factory-painted silver initially), ad blue window chests. now looks good...

Oversize Legend (TFTM) Brawl
I call it... Tankor... hahaha... the KO cannot swing the big tank barrel down completely in bot mode, so cut & remove the small piece (whose position should be originally nearer to the gun barrel to "obstruct" it from coming down completely) to join it at the position seen in picture now... you may need to join 1 end first, then if got gap, stuff some tissue and super-glue (use a toothpick's sharp end to do)...

Now the barrel can go down completely (did not push the barrel down completely in pic; yeap, can do that)... Painted the face too...

KO Shattered Glass Goldbug
Saw from some forum about this KO whose colour is very near to the Shattered Glass Goldbug, whose mold is also the Deluxe (Voyager?) version of Cybertron Hotshot... So repainted this piece... very tough, because my yellow paint pen is not working well, and the plastic is quite oily... finally done in the end.. not exactly like the Botcon one, but 85% similar... ( see http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Image:ShatteredGlasstoy-Goldbug.jpg)...

... change the blue head to black instead, felt more appropriate, since now am not adding blue to the colour scheme... did not remold the head, felt this is good enough (deliberately paint the eyes BIG, like the Botcon one) ... left the wheels yellow, like the striking colours... painted the legs, chest and hip close to the Botcon one... and left the arms as they are...

... close-up view of the head... very angry face...

Edit: Added a mouth-cover to make it look more like the real SG Goldbug...

... and the whole figure looks more like the Botcon one... not really... hahaha...

Oh, before I forget, I finally open up and combine the KO Legends ROTF Devastator... plastic & QC quality is not as good... but hey, for $35, what can you ask for? (CSC is selling the Hasbro set today at $55, cash... tempting, would have buy if hadn't gotten the KO set... )

Edit: Pic of KO Legends ROFT Devastator combined...

Side-Tracked: Recent Haul of (non-)KOs (42) - Autovolt

Galaxy Force - Autovolt
Went to CSC today, and found this piece for $15. Very tempted to get the Vector Prime and Noisemaze, but since already got the KO (which are quite good), so did not... This is from the other Korean company MOCOM Toys... very childish patterns all over the box... anyway, $15 is cheap for a deluxe size TF... I think...

Opened up, and this is what you get... even got a card that changes 2 times to show 3 (or is it 4?) steps of the transformations... cool... did not transform, dunno why...

Initially wanted to get the Universe (Deluxe) Optimus Prime (the one in a black box), selling at $20, but when after jalan and go back to the shop, it was gone... Nevermind.. wait for a good TF at a good price... Did not buy the WST Blaster too, as felt it was not as good as I thought... head is too small, the Steeljaw looks more like a dog instead of lion...
