Jinbao Megatron Updates: Faceplate Restoration Attempt and Display Stand

The alternate faceplates for Jinbao Megatron looks weird... Upon closer inspection, they seemed to be missing the black eyebrow line directly above the eye, which is present in the shouting faceplate. Hence decided to draw the eyebrow back, but realised it is not easy to do manually, as the face is really tiny...Tried my best, anyway...

Tried on the straight face first... Used a permanent marker with a fine tip to draw the at right side first to test... somehow it makes the eye look a bit bigger visually...

After drawing on both sides... looks ok...

Comparison with the smiling face... I drew the eyebrow on the smiling face too (did not take the picture), but it still does not look that good...

Fit the straight face on the head... Looks better... but think I still prefer the shouting face...

And finally managed to fit Jinbao Megatron onto the display stand... turns out the tip of the peg (of display stand) has too sharp edges and caused the difficulties I faced in the video...

Jinbao D.F05 Destroy Emperor - KO Oversized NewAge Agamemnon ( G1 Transformers Megatron )

Did not expect a super good quality comparable to Newage's, especially with this price, and was pleasantly surprised by the relatively smooth joints mostly. Plastic, while not as flexible (nylon-like), seem to give a bit of rubbery feel, especially compered to the (older) MFTs, which means likely it has a little bit of flex. However, some parts came with stress marks straight out of packaging. This Jinbao Megatron is a slightly oversized KO of the Newage's version, and comes with a lot of accessories. I did not own a NA version hence not sure if there is any simplification, which I will assume there is none. A very nice transformation compared to the MFT's one, which is also a KO of someone else's mold, can't remember... I don't really care about scales in my collection, and this slightly oversized figure will likely to be displayed in my shelf of Megatrons, so scale is not a factor here.

Mechanic Studio MS MS-20 Iron Sky a.k.a. G1 Transformers Astrotrain

I thought I watched some Chinese reviewers saying something about Mechanic Studio used to get Mech Fans Toys MFT to market and distribute their toys, but some time back has stopped the marketing partnership... something like this... hence, Mechanic Studio should not be seen as the same as MFT... Anyway... Have as been waiting quite eagerly for this figure since it was announced. Except for the back (which the cartoon also has many variations), this figure is almost like the cartoon character walk right out of the monitor. The transformation is based loosely on the G1 toy, but with new arms and feet transformation. Plastic quality is quite ok, though do not expect the "nylon" quality of Magic Square nor that of Newage Toys's, that will be too nitpicky... Joints are pretty tight enough and smooth when turning. Nice figure.

Newage Toys NA G1 Transformers Decepticons Coneheads Team ( Ramjet Thrust Dirge )

After the failed attempt to buy the ghost Starscream version, I decided to bite the bullet and buy not just Starscream, not just the 3 Seekers, but also the 3 Coneheads as well! Hmmm... Not sure why, but I think they all are quite nice little TF figures... Till now, this mold is still the best interpretation (to me) of the G1 Seekers and Coneheads... Did not get the Magic Square ones as I felt the designer(s) are a bit sloppish on that design, as they just blatantly use the DX9 wings design and Classics chest-wheels design and mix into 1...

Newage NA Seekers - Quick Modify to Jet Mode Tail-Fins : Your Toy, Your Choice !

Newage NA Seekers - Quick Modify to Jet Mode Tail-Fins : Your Toy, Your Choice ! Could not resist and bought all 3 Newage NA Seekers and all 3 Coneheads in 1 shot... now wallet is bleeding... anyway, Newage seekers have a weird jet mode that may be cartoon accurate in some scenes, but overall, the back of the jet looks too long as the main wings are missing the flaps... but must emphasize, I remember seeing some episodes of the G1 cartoon depict the seekers as such - long back jets... anyway, a simple way for those who wanted the jet to look a little more realistic can do this mode, though I feel it will make the back thrusters things become very "outstanding" and not realistic too... anyway, your toy, your choice, do whatever you like with it/them... I am thinking of trimming off the flaps in my Pocket Toys seekers and fit them into these NA seekers with some mini hinges... maybe... if not busy in future...

Gerwalk mode!!!

*** In Robot mode...

Magic Square MS-Toys Light of Justice (a.k.a. Transformers G1 Optimus Prime ) w/ Matrix Modification

Cost around SGD60... This is the cartoon accurate release, but I had to scrape off the yellow paint on his lower arms to make it look more cartoon accurate... Also superglued the smokestacks onto his arms. The major modification is the Matrix Chamber which can now allow the Matrix to be inside without need to take out when transforming into truck mode. I copied the method used by Magic Square's Masterpiece size version, and wondered why can't MS designers just do this in the first place?... Anyway, parts cae off while in the modification, and after repairing, the alignment went off a bit... but still can withstand... Among my small size G1 Optimus Primes, this one is the most cartoon accurate... Good design...

Looks ok!

OK in truck mode too!
