Side-Tracked: Recent Haul of TFs (152) - TF Generations (Voyager) Springer

Bought this at Toys R Us (Paragon), paid $29.90 after using a $10 voucher... This is a MUST BUY!!!!!! Hahaha... Have not transformed it yet, but has been watching many Youtube reviews.. and I think it is on par, if not better, than the 3rd Party version, which I heard is difficult to transform... Nice.... Next target? Probably the (Voyager) Blitzwing...




Edit: Sigh, Springer's left ankle seems to be wrongly assembled or wrong part, and when I forced it to swivel, the part went loose and now it just won't click towards in the front position...

Update : KO Build Team (RID)

Don't know why but just thought of picking up my set of KO Build Team (RID) to fix up and display in the Detolf cabinet..

The KO Build Team in their vehicle modes... Plastic quality is actually good for this set of KOs... Joints are relatively tight for almost all... but just like all KOs, there are bound to be some loose joints or mis-use of fasteners, etc... so still need to touch up...


KO Build Team in the robot mode! Looks pretty good... Wedge is the shorter guy, but seems to be the "leader"... Hmmm... and yes, the shades of red is very very obvious for KO Hightower...


The individual robots... First is KO Grimlock... The hands are switched initially, so have to reverse the left-right hands back...



Up next is KO Heavy Load... Still missing a peg to join the 2 halves of the groin area, will do that next time, if I remember... The container bed will get stuck in claw mode even with the spring, as the joints are simply too tight...



Next, KO Hightower... The head linkages are jointed with 2 pins from the sides, and this will prevent the head piece from fitting into the cavity in robot mode, so got to trim off some spaces on the neck area... Maybe should have painted the cabin frames red, but I find the unpainted cabin looks nicer... dilemma...



Lastly, KO Wedge... the "leader"... very small in size...



Combine!!!!! (KO) Landfill!!!!! Japanese version is called "Hurricane Mode", I believe...


KO Landfill with the weapons... It is just a mm or 2 shorter than G1 Ruination, head-to-head comparison, so is considered to be of a decent sized Gestalt TF...

(Near) Bootleg G1 Autobot Clones - Fastlane, Cloudraker: De-tombed !!!

Cannot resist the temptation and de-tombed the newly bought set of (near) bootleg Autobot G1 Clones... After some minor fiddling and operation, they are now standing proudly inside my Detolf display cabinet, together with their yellow-green counterparts... nice... So here's a pic of them together. I am not 100% sure but it seems that their colours match perfectly to the original ones... The Autobot signs on the groin area are self-made ones... For easier typing, I shall call them KO Fastlane and KO Cloudraker from now on...


First up, KO Fastlane, without the guns attached... Looks good, but felt it may be better if there are 2 wheels at the sides on the front... The wheel rims are actually stickers, hahaha...


After guns are attached, it looks even weirder... hahaha.... Joints are reasonably tight for these 2 KOs... Good... Plastic quality is good, though it feels more towards to the "shampoo bottle" plastics than the brittle type... which I think the former is better, no need to worry that the plastic will crumble with age...


Comparison picture of the 2 KOs... The spoiler stand is actually longer for the yellow-green KO... Other than that, nothing much is different... Oh, the guns... now the new KO Fastlane has the correct guns...


The angle of shoting makes it look like the new KO Fastlane hides the spoiler in robot mode better, but is not true...Just a viewing error...


Next, KO Cloudraker! I like the jet mode a lot, though I kind of dislike it when I was young... During then, I could not stand the sight of the protruding leg-pieces at the back of the jet, and that it did not have vertical stabilizer-fins... hahahaha... When I first transform this, the internal little tab for making the head to stay in position is too tight, and some trimming has to be done... Opps, did not realize the nosecone has to have a sticker until now, as I am typing this, and happen to chance on a picture of the original one... Nevermind, next time will print one, if I can remember...


Comparison shot of the 2 KO Cloudrakers... Made the wings and the jet-front for the green-yellow KO, as it is bashed from another KO Fastlane, since Taobao is selling only the KO Fastlanes (cheaply)...


Robot mode comparison of the 2 KO Cloudrakers... Notice the new KO Cloudraker has a wrong gun held... According to 1 Taobao.com page, the seller says that the KO manufacturer actually is lazy to get the 2 different molds and thus only makes the gun for 1 side, double the quantity... anyway, doesn't really affect too much...


All 4 G1 Autobot Clones!!!! Amazingly nice!!! Hahahaha.... "Roger dodger, Optimus Prime.... Roger dodger, Optimus Prime.... Roger dodger, Optimus Prime.... Roger dodger, Optimus Prime!"

Side-Tracked: Recent Haul of KOs (151) - (Near) Bootleg G1 Autobot Clones : Cloudraker and Fastlane

Received these items that were bought off Taobao.com... nice nice nice nice (near) bootlegs (I called them near-bootleg as the autobot logo stickers are different, and they came in a blister-card pack...)!!! Colours are same as original ones, stickers are included, even right up to the 2 stickers that differentiates the twins (only they are pasted at the groin area instead of chest area)... The autobot sign is replaced by a weird "w" symbol... hmmm... now, count up your sins... ah, nevermind me... Cost approximately $14.35, which is a bit steep, considering they are old KOs, but for such a nice G1 bootleg, they are way under-priced...

Side-Tracked: Recent Haul of KOs (150) - KO Kabaya G1 Beachcomber

Bought a KO Kabaya G1 Beachcomber... though I like to get a bootleg version, it just seem more fun to get this KO one, especially it needs to self-assemble, hahaha... Wonder if the colours will turn out ok or weird... Cost approx $6.50.
