Side-Tracked: Recent Haul of KOs (214) - Mech Fans Toys MFT MF-37 Veteran a.k.a. Kup

Gotten this from Tabobao.com... can't remember the price.... but shld be around $20...

Contents of the MFT Kup... Freebie sticker!!!! Hahahaha...

I believe these are the KO Diaclone stuff and accessories, which I don't really collect and probably will end up inside a box for a long long long time...

The main toy and accessories... This MFT Kup is an oversized KO of the DX9 Toufold, and already there are some glitches around the ball joint for the chest-head piece... will need to figure out how to trim off some parts to allow smoother transformation... anyway, this is a very nice figure...

Video Time!!!

  1. How's the chest ball joint on your Kup holding up? I just got mine, and already got stress mark on first transformation. Think I will follow your advice to shave the connection.

Btw, what tools do you use to cut plastic and where you get them? Am also thinking of doing your mod of cutting slots into CBB Onslaught so that the chestpiece can tab in and lock the shoulders. Am not pro in modding, only tried filing and epoxy putty so far.

I always check your videos for any mods, fixes, or misassembled parts, so it's very useful. Keep it up! I only wish there were captions in your videos, cos sometimes I dunno what you are referring to when you point at stuff, and have to switch between your blog and video to compare.

    1. Hi, the joint is currently doing fine, though it is also partly because I have not transform this figure for quite some time already. The plastic material seem dense enough to withstand breaking after shaving. You could try using a hot-air gun ( or a hair dryer, but not sure if will work well) to heat the stress marks after doing the shaving, most of the time most stress marks will disappear.

I normally use a typical penknife cutter (those with replaceable blades) from bookshops or such. Ah, that's nice, do be careful when cutting the slots, it helps a lot in securing the gestalt shoulders. Same, I am an amatuer too, with only primitive tools, and realised I am getting lazier with age to do modding or customise parts...

Thank you for watching the videos, appreciate it greatly. Frankly, a lot of times, I do the videos is for myself to watch in the future, as I tend to be very lazy to even take a figure out to transform after putting it inside the cabinet display. But will try to play around with the Youtube features in the future like captions and such, thanks for pointing out. =)

Great to hear from a fellow TF fan!!!

    2. Thanks for the reply! I filed the connection down so it goes in smoothly and doesn't stress the ball joint anymore.

And thanks to you, I also didn't realize that UI Bumblebee is misassembled. Haha.

Other than YouTube, if you are on PC, the Photos app has simple editing features for videos. I have used it to join clips, and there's simple text functions as well. Very easy to use.

I'm sure there are many other options for captions out there. But up to lah. For me, I find it very helpful, cos not everyone who watch your videos will know about your blog, unless they bother to read the video description. And there's useful info there that is lost on those who only watch the videos.

    3. Most welcomed! Must also thank you cos a few days later after replying, I somehow took out this Kup from the display cabinet and transformed it a few times before putting it back into display. Thanks for the Photo app advise and tips, will probably try out next time!
