Side-Tracked: Recent Haul of 3rd-Party TFs (213) - Papa Toys PT-02 Fire Engine ( a.k.a. Inferno )

Have not time nor mood to transform it... but a quick look at the face suggest that the eyes seem to be placed too low down, and caused a silly white gap at the forehead... makes Inferno looks a bit goondoo-ish... Probably will try to do something to it... if got time and mood... sigh... did not get the Grapple counterpart simply because no love for it... hahahaha... no lah, did not really feel like getting it so much as compared to Inferno as I wanted to get a G1 Inferno in the past , KO or cheap 1st-hand original, but cannot find one..

Side-Tracked: Recent Haul of TFs (212) - TLK Premier Edition Deluxe Class Strafe, RID Legends Class Grimlock

Gotten these figures recently... TLK Strafe is almost free, as I use some redeemed vouchers to pay for it.. The price is also quite cheap as this item is on sales in Kiddy Palace... Very nice figure with minimum transformation between the 2 modes...


RID Legends Grimlock was bought at the recent Takashimaya Craziest Toys Sale, at $4... I did not cover this event as there is virtually nothing I want to purchase... sigh, no more tokusatsu items selling in Takashimaya anymore...

Side-Tracked: Recent Haul of KOs (211) - Mech Fans Toys MFT Dinobots - MF24 Sonarl a.k.a. Snarl ( Transformers )

The 4th member of the MFT Dinobots... now still awaiting the leader, and the circle will be complete... hahahaha... Joints are too tight at the weong places, and my fingers are still numb and sore after the transformations, not to mention my fingernail-seam-tears... Do note the small black piece in the box is for Swoop to be able to put on a stand... I think.... Very happy to be able to get this... Costs around SGD 23...

Update : Fiddling / Restoration of Jinbao ( Jin Bao ) Oversized KO Feral Rex a.k.a. Predaking 金宝 冲云霄

With the release of the POTP Predaking, I cannot help but reach for my old Jinbao KO Oversized Feral Rex and fiddle around with it... and to do the restorations that I did not do last time... or upgrade the restoration... First up, I removed the old non-slip mat on the gestalt feet and rip off the hot glue that was used to form the surface for sticking... not as easy... luckily got the help of the label-remove liquid bought from Daiso, else, the super sticky goo from the double side tape is very stubborn.... Used a thick foam mat to cut out the shape and then cut out the holes and depressions needed to fit into the cavity... Done!!!! As good as the previous non-slip mat method...


Tested out if the buffalo and rhino are able to still mount the feet-cannon on their backs... OK!


Next, I wanted to attach the tail and the robot-face-cover to Leo Dux's beast mode, but found out that the tail is overly oversized and cannot attach onto the twin cannons in robot mode via the intended pegs/tabs. Also, Jinbao added 2 extra tabs on the tail pieces for tabbing into the gestalt hand which will allow Feral Rex to hold the weapon's handle, so I have to cut off the extra tabs only on 1 side. This will allow Feral Rex to still hold the weapon's handle (Leo Dux tail) if needed next time...


And realized the 2 sides to cut off are the same side, hahahaha... Then I cut and slowly trim the 2 tabs to fit onto the twin cannons of Leo Dux...


Also manage to find the way to attach the robot-face cover to the tail halves, which allows me to store everything on Leo Dux robot mode...


Then my hands get itchy and I decided to correctly swap back the animal feet of Bovis and Fortis... and broke 1 of the ball joint peg in the process... and injured my palm while trying to remove the broke-off ball peg from the socket... sigh... still, finally manage to repair the peg... Luckily... and also painted Fortis's rhino feet to black... All done!!!!

Side-Tracked: Recent Haul of TF (210) - Takara Legends LG-61 Clonetron Set : Decepticons Clones Pounce and Wingspan

Finally found 1 in Taobao that will be slightly lesser priced ( which is quite rare ) than local seller... Very happy to get this set as I have not been able to find the KO of the G1 counterpart, and the legit G1 ones are quite expensive... So when I learnt that TT is releasing these as a set, I thought of buying 1 for collection... but was not able to do so due to pricing and such, until now... very happy... Can't remember the exact price, but should be less than SGD44...



Beast mode are quite nice, though the bird/eagle/whatever does not look like the G1 bird. It looks more realistic though... The cat/jaguar/tiger/whatever looks good though...


I had to tighten up 3 out of the 4 knee joints for these 2 figures which I felt was too loose... but now 1 of them seem to be a teeny bit too tight, hahahaha... but ok, am already very happy...


Robot height comparison with my KO Autobot Clone... not sure if the KO Autobot Clone is oversized or not... Finally completed both Autobot and Decepticon clone sets (regardless of versions) !!!!

Homemade Infinity Gauntlet

My 4th time playing around making stuff with EVA foam but first time painting it... Wanted to make it entirely of EVA foam. but later had to use a cheap welding glove to act as the fingers' structure... Used black colour glass paint to paint as base colour but prove to be a bad choice as the paint is sticky and sticks to each other especially at the fingers and thumb part even when dry. Luckily the acrylic gold paint saves the day when applied... The gems comes with a silver coating that I had to scrape off to allow the SMD LEDs to shine the light through... Not a very good piece but am already very happy, considering this is my birthday present made for myself, hahahahaha...

Edit: Added a little bit of black highlights and panel lines to be able to see the details better a few months ago...


Also painted the brown gloves part to gold...

Side-Tracked: Recent Haul of TF and KO (209) - Power of the Primes POTP Rodimus Prime , Mech Fans Toys MFT Mech-Zero Megotroun a.k.a. Megatron

Collected my haul from Taobao yesterday... First up, Power fo the Primes POTP Rodimus Prime... I ordered a loose item (without box) but seller sends a boxed version instead, and thus started the battle of volumetric shipping weight with my Taobao agent... luckily resolved.... The stock were supposedly factory rejects,leaks, etc or perhaps could even be KOs... Nevertheless, they are still a pile of plastic of reasonable quality, so ok for me... Total price is SGD54.35, which is quite a huge difference from my local TRU price of about SGD99 ... I like the Rodimus Prime design, and since I am mostly displaying my TF, the weird shoulder joints don't really bother me...though I might try to do something if I have spare time...



Edit : Could be a factory reject, as it is missing the flame stickers on 1 side of the trailer... hahahaha...


Also gotten the Mech Fans Toys MFT Mech-Zero Megotroun a.k.a. Megatron, at SGD 20.20 ... Quite a nice face sculpt... direct copy from MP version... hahahaha...


Be careful not to loose the small bag which contains the microphone piece for the Mind-control helmet...



Also gotten a plastic-chromed Autobot car insignia at SGD2.50 for my car...
