And finally am well enough to start "restoring" the last of the band... KO TFC Structor.... The leader (I assume) of the 'Constructicons'!!!! I used the KO Version 1 for most of the body, only a few parts (e.g. head, wheels, crotch, thighs and legs, etc) from Version 2's... Will only be able to show some of the work that I remember to take pictures of... First up, the crotch and legs of V2 are transplanted to V1, with V1's inner legs trimmed and added onto V2's...
I had to use V2's gestalt leg connector, and this time I tried to add the 'ratcheting joint' feature.. not very successful initially but after some other work it turn out to be quite ok...
Also made the head to be able to slide in and hide in vehicle mode... Took a LONG LONG time to do so...
... and after implanting the V2's bigger wheels to the arms, here's the vehicle mode!!! Nice... Head is now not visible...
... and robot mode!!! He is a bit back heavy, but still able to stand well, especially if you turn the thighs to an outward V-shape...
Posing is quite ok, but head cannot turn, hence the awkward look...
Gestalt leg mode is ok!
And here's how my incomplete-painted KO TFC Hercules looks like... nice... Very happy to get this KO, especially considering it costs only a fraction of what the real TFC Herc will cost...
Can't wait to paint the KO...
Hi akuna..this might a lil out of topic..do u have a ko version of springer?i stumbled upon before but didnt buy it.when i went again yesterday, the seller was gone..how can i find this in taobao..fyi i cant speak mandarin..thanks dude
ReplyDeleteThe G1 version? Anyway the Chinese words for Transformers Springer is 变形金刚 弹簧 , if you are searching in Taobao. Add in G1 if you just want to hunt for G1 Springer, which the items surfaced will likely be the KO version. I heard about some using Aliexpress.com to search for their KOs, think it is English website... Hope this helps!
DeleteThank u so veryy much bro...really really appreciate it..whenever i feel down because of hard hunting KO,u r always there for me ROFL..thanks dude
DeleteI love your custom work. I'm looking forward to seeing more. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the compliment! =)
DeleteAwesome work as always. Tried your tissue and super glue, im so glad of the result.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, any idea how could i scratch build the waist swivel for the ankle tilt in combiner form?
Thanks for the compliment. In fact, the tissue+superglue is used by the forensic investigators in Taiwan to collect fingerprints sometimes, and do be careful not to inhale in the vapor too much. As for the waist swivel, I will prefer to use something strong as the axle for swivelling, eg. a metal screw, that can probably be attached to the back of the body. The rest is up to you to experiment. =)
