Side-Tracked: Recent Haul of KOs (& non-KOs) (15)

Latest haul a few days ago... Decided to go to Kuan Yin Temple to pray and shop after work... So after praying, went over to the gift & toy shop and saw, with surprise, new stock of KO TFs... Then went over to OG Albert and unexpectedly gotten crazy and spend $$$$....

(1) ROTF Poster (2 Sided)
Got this free at OG Albert, think is spend certain amount then they give... not something I want, but not rejecting either, so most likely it will be kept transformed in its alternate (rolled-up) form...

(2) "Warriors From Three Worlds" Pack
25th Anniversary... Universe... but it is from Cybertron line... complicated... hahaha... nevermind, cos I am attracted by the Ransack GTS (leftmost in picture)... I already have a KO Scattorshot, but it is the lousy version (from the ugly Gestalt line) which I have bash into a nicer bot mode... so will be using this original Scattorshot (middle in picture)... Repugnus (rightmost in picture)! Weird and ugly bot and creature mode... but I still like it because it is cute... hahaha... Repugnus... Finally, my Doublecross (original) found an old Monsterbot friend (at least same name)...

(3) Universe Sunstreaker
Damn, I have been contemplating whether to get this or not for long long time liao... decides to get this in the end that day after much comparison (with ROTF Deluxes, Marvel crossovers)... And decide this is still the nicest design... Somemore earlier gotten KO Sideswipe (his brother) already, so got to let the siblings reunion mah... hahaha... And I did NOT regret buying him... and later that night, found a way to combine his back engine to his blaster gun... neat...

(4) Universe Galvatron (Oversized)
Man, is he HUGE! I mean as compared to his original counterpart... I think most TF fans must have wished for the original Universe Galvatron to be this size... BUT sadly.... the parts are TOO simplified... way too simplified... perhaps you can refer to kotoys.com for a picture of the bot mode 1st before I put up a pic myself (if I can remember)... Nevertheless, hey, after all these years of practise, I am sure I can do something about this... a bit big scale though... only time is the factor...
Edit: Perhaps I may NOT be doing this afterall, time is definitely not on my side, too many to complete this year... will see how... maybe a very simplified one...

(5) ROTF Sideswipe (KO)
.... and save the best for the last!!!!!!.... According to kotoys.com's forum, this pack is the average quality one of the 3 types available in the market... The lousiest one is way cannot make it, with so much remoulding to most parts, I think even the head is not spared... The best has transparent door windows and windscreen, inner thighs are not hollow like my one, the back pack can be folded like original (mine can't)...

hmm... transparent sword... perhaps can used for mini Gran/Fighbird... Anyway, can bash to better, not big problem... Sweet, since now is ridiculously difficult to find a real Sideswipe, this will be a good replacement, with some surgical operations of course, hahahaha.......

I love KOs....

Side-Tracked: Recent Haul of KOs (14)

After RT today, went over to central for shopping groceries and necessities... pass by the same photocopying kiosk again... and fell prey to KO TFs again... hahahaha......

Classics Ramjet
Eyeing this piece already since yesterday, when I bought the Universe Drag Strip... but tahan, cos already have the Henkei piece liao.... so think overnight, decide to get this if pass by the kiosk again, if it still has not been sold... yeap, the 2 pieces are still there... Quickly grab it... Again, after de-tombing it to inspect (and play, of course), it is a very, very, very close match to the original, about 95%.... only missing flippable chest wheels, 1 piece moulded head, some plastic joints / metal screws replacing the metal rivets, and colour difference... but the stripes are similar... Best is the arm joints are intact, and weapons CAN fire!! Can you believe it? This is almost a bootleg version, with KO materials.... Am planning to paint and bash into Dirge... Henkei Classics Dirge, perhaps with small wings of Henkei Dirge...

Some comparisons of my Henkei Ramjet versus KO Classics Ramjet.... Unbelievable...

... robot modes... notice I did not bother to transform the side wings (jointed at body) of Henkei Ramjet, and that the KO's missing his side wings? Because the wing joints are replaced by plastic peg moulded to the body, and they break the moment I rotate them (quite gently too)... so drill a small pilot hole and replace the broke peg by a small screw... same for the other side too.... which this way should be similar to the original, just that the original uses a metal rivet as pin... Sweet....

Rapid Run
Ok, Rapid Run is a repaint of Armada Sideways... Since I already gotten the Cybertron Sideways (another gem...), I decide to call this by its repaint version.. Anyway, the colour scheme is closer to Rapid Run too... I originally decide to buy this only because I wanted to give the Movie Bumblebee bought yesterday a better opponent (in term of body size and height)... yes, I am that weird, i always buy a pair of transformers, to keep the balance in check... hahaha.... I saw this KO this year in many places and cheaper too... but did not buy... if only I know how fun this piece of KO is, I would have gotten it earlier... Hey, the 2 fellas are not only headmasters, but Energon combiners too!!!!!! They can combine to form a bigger guy to ride Rapid Run in motorbike form!!!! Cool....

...close-up view of the contents... As I de-tomb them, I slowly find the fun of it... Of course, some parts are loose and not fitting... but all can be solved.... I decide to arrange the limbs in a nicer aesthetics looking way too, for the headmasters when they form the heads...

Sigh, nowadays it is so difficult to find KO TFs in Singapore... I mean good ones.... not some hilariously ridiculous types... Am so happy these 2 days... founded gem...

Side-Tracked: Recent Haul of KOs (13)

Today went to have breakfast with my 2 folks and uncle and 2 cousins... Went over to settle some bank matters.. Then went around to shop shop... the photocopy kiosk near NTUC has new KO TFs: TF Animated Activators for normal size and smaller size(?) I think... of mix of classes..., Classics Ramjet (white), Universe Drag Strip, funny coloured Robotmasters, etc... Then went over to market and bought a KO Movie 2007 Bumblebee.... Happy day....

(1) TFA - Ratchet (Activator)
90% similar to the real one, with the horn repaired! For $5, its a good bargain.... Nice packaging too...

(2) TFA - Lockdown (Activator)
Lockdown reminds me of the Star Wars character, hahaha... anyway, this is the combined form of Lockdown normal & bandit modes...

(3) Universe Drag Strip
Wah, heng ah... A few weeks ago I went over to the Toy Carnival @SAM and tempted to buy the real Universe Drag Strip at a special price of $20 but tahan... then saw in the net there is a KO version... wish it would come in S'pore.. and then I saw it this morning.... so now I have saved $12... ok, so this has 2 pieces of hip parts missing... but no worries for me!

BTW, the VCD contains 2 episodes of TFA, but I can only watch in my notebook....

(4) Deluxe Movie 07 Bumblebee
Initially was not thinking of buying this, thought of going back to the photocopy kiosk to buy a Ramjet... but the chest piece and weapon design is too tempting... so decided to get this... did not regret this decision...

Seems nowadays KOs are better built... as in they can more or less transform... of course still got gaps and misfits... but is much better than last time... maybe the moulds are newer, so much better pieces...

Combaticons Army (KO)

Was browsing thru' the net just now, and saw the someone posted his Combaticons Army of 3 sizes... Went to look at the pics and then realised that I am indeed once again fortunate to own a better set of original size and mini size... Some differences include Blastoffs' fists are rotatable (for mine), Vortex has individually moulded upper legs, Swindle has separate lower legs, Onslaught has black heads, and Onslaught (mini) has brown body.... I'll put up his collection link ( http://www.actionfigurechecklist.com/Images/Album/index.php?v=list&i=0&p=Transformers_KnockOff_KO/Combiner/Group_Shots/Combaticons ) and my collection here for comparison...

Bruticuses army for reference... And yes, I prefer to put their leg this way... did the same for my Superions and Landcrosses....

KO Transformers Repaint - Henkei Megatron

Just finish repainted the KO Henkei Megatron an hour ago. Looks better and closer to the Henkei version... I think this KO is based on the Classics version, as this is out before Henkei Megatron is announced... This is one case where the KO makers has a much better sense of colour as the KO is so much much much nicer than the Classics version!! ... and the colour is uncanny similar to the Henkei version.... except for the red shell... Initially did not want to repaint such a big area... but relented in the end... so I just now finally repaint the shell & trigger...

Let the pictures do the talking... First is the gun mode...

Robot mode...

Just check thru' my list of To-Dos... so many to repair and mod... Hope got time in December...

Side-Tracked: Recent Haul of non-KOs (12)

Went to the Toy Carnival @SAM today, and jalan around (more story in my other blog)... a bit sad that this is like the CSC style... but with the Star Wars and Mask Rider cos-players, things look better... Then went over to CSC... My hauls below... Got a free comic (DemonSlayer) in the Toy Carnival...

WST Hot Rod
Found the WST Hot Rod (Plain red version) in the Toy Carnival!!!!!!!!!!! For $10 only!!!! Sweet... although no paint, and loose joints, I am very very happy... Actually there are a lot of cheap TFs like Treadbolt (Loose - $15), Frenzy (Loose - $5), etc etc, but did not get cos they are loose pieces, prefer to get only MISB... Nemesis Prime (boxed - $30), Commemorative G1 Soundwave ($50) are quite cheap, but I have since waken up from my dream after the shock buy of my ROTF Scouts... Nice little WST... have been wanting to look for this piece for a long time...

EZ ROTF Optimus Prime
TO avoid confusion, I shall label him as Fallen EZ Prime. Got this little fella in CSC. For $8, he is cheaper than the Hasbro's version ($11.90 - retail, $12 in CSC). Helpful staff told me thay have already marked out which TF is inside at the side of the box (realised they cut open the bottom to check). Arms tend to pop out easily... and the hole on the back is too big to fit in the Jetfire's peg... Need to do something...

Springer
Got this too in the same shop in CSC... Thought of getting this 2 Legends figures only tomorrow after catching the movie... but since saw them there, grab them first... Fist are loose in vehicle mode (propellers tend to tilt down)...

Overall a good catch today.... Tomorrow watching the movie.... Hope don't come out nausea and feel like vomiting, like for the 1st movie.... hahahaha....

Side-Tracked: Recent Haul of non-KOs (11)

Yesterday went to OG Albert again to buy some working pants... and then went up the 3rd floor... and suddenly, become crazy... It started with seeing a heap of boxes of Hulk Attack Vehicle at sale of $19.90, and quickly grab one - keep the figurine for myself, and the big car for my baby nephew! Then, walk over and bought 4 Scouts and 1 Legends ROTFs... What!!!!!!!! I can't believe what I bought when paying at the cashier counter... That was when I woke up, but too late liao... got to pay the $100 plus.... sigh... impulsive buy... the power of retail therapy and GSS....

HULK ATTACK VEHICLE
At only $19.90, which Hulk fan (like me) can resist??!!! Gave the car to my baby nephew and boy, he is happy...

... and my impulse buys....

Ransack
Very delicate and fairly loose ball joints... in fact, most of the ROTFs I bought are like that... worse is Dead End... but, still ok....

Depthcharge
Funny head design, like put a bowl on head and cut the hair...hahaha.... But nice vehicle mode....

Dirtboss
To avoid confusion, I shall label him as Mudboss in my collection list... Very fierce warrior-like robot mode, with 2 blades....

Dead End
Actually I find him look like the Cybertron Ransack.... The red and black colour, the head half into the shoulders, the long feet... Very bad bad bad ball joint for 1 arm, like it was dislocated.. put some super-glue on the ball to tighten, and he recovered from his dislocation....

(Legends) Jetfire
To avoid confusion, I shall label him as Jetflare in my collection list. This old man, he still look kindda cool in plane mode... but the bot mode is... sigh...

Looking forward to the Toy Carnival this Sunday....
