Update : KO Kabaya Assembled - Super Build Tiger

FINALLY!!!!!!!!!! HURRAY!!!!!!!! Finish assembling my Kabaya Super Build Tiger!!!!!!!!!!! Indeed it is such a wonderful feeling after the completion, especially after all the hard work and frustration.... Trying to make the bots combine, no easy feat... Perhaps I could have use alternate mods but who care, so long as it can be combined!!!! Wahahaha.... so happy... When I saw the picture of the Kabaya Super Build Tiger on the Internet (bought and assembled by someone), I really wish I had one.. I thought it will be so fun to have a Kabaya combiner to assemble... and indeed it is fun!!! So now I have all 3 sizes of Super Build Tiger (Normal, Mini and this version, Micro)....

The Build Force in their vehicle mode, below....

(1) MacCrane
This was the 2nd last of the Build Force I assemble. I had to refer to the mini KO MacCrane for reference... In fact, I used all the mini KOs for reference while assembling every piece... Mods include cutting out the tip of the crane piece to make a hole so that the gun can be store inside, like the mini KO version. This means the spike ball will have to sacrificed to the box of missiles and etc, but I prefer the gun to be able to be stored when in vehicle mode... I included pictures of size comparison with my KO Build Force members for every member of the Kabaya version...

MacCrane in robot mode... Notice the 2 upper thighs. They are actually moulded together, but looks funny, so when I saw the original is not, I trim off a little to form the separated thighs...

(2) Power Joe
Power Joe was built 2nd. As mentioned in previous post, the head is being made swivelling, like the original one... The fist used to form Build Tiger is moulded wrongly. I check thru' the other pack, and only the right fists are moulded... luckily, it can be reverse without noticing....

Camera trick here: The feet are actually NOT touching the ground. The caterpillar tracks are moulded to fix too low, and I am too lazy to undo that, hahaha.... Dunno why too, since its just a simple mod... Heck, since the heels can provide the stability, good enough liao....

(3) Dumpson
Dumpson is the 1st member I assemble. I read from the forum that this fella is the one giving problem, so started off with it first... Indeed, all lot of work done... I had to slice off a little, near the front grill, to let the arms of MacCrane to fit in (when forming Build Tiger)... Inner of the grill connectors were trimmed off too... Put paddings on the shoulders to raise the shoulder height, then drill a hole in each to fit in the mounting pin in Super Build Tiger's feet...

Dumpson is the most stable of them 4. And 1 of the most original looking too...

(4) Drill Boy
Drill Boy is my last member to assemble, simply because I am eager to form Build Tiger... Hahaha... Its one tough one too... eg. the back (robot mode) has pins too big to hold the wings... have to make pins... Tiger head cannot be pushed in, need to shave off the lousy moulding... But finally done!!

Surprise! The flight mode is still able to work here! (Well, it has to, otherwise, it cannot form Super Build Tiger!)

Drill Boy in robot mode... Thank goodness the soccer ball drawing in the chest is gone..

BUILD TIGER
Formed by combining MacCrane, Power Joe and Dumpson... Pretty stable.. shaky though... the caterpillar tracks from Power Joe can't be attached to the legs, so I put them on the back instead... Thus, his left shoulder has to be a bit tilted... I can put it in the horizontally , well-aligned position, but it will clash with the back pack and then I cannot turn the arm.... Flaming Build Tiger!!!!!!!!!! (so glad that I got all 4 members of the same colour)...

SUPER BUILD TIGER
The form we have all been waiting for.... Drill Boy provides the feet power-up amour, the chest armour as well as the 2 wings...

Let the pictures do the talking....

Size comparison with the mini KO Super Build Tiger... Hmm... I will dig out my normal size KO Super Build Tiger to take the army of Build Force...
* EDIT: Comparison with original size KO Super Build Tiger...

Ahhh.... $1.50 per piece... $6 for a micro-sized Super Build Tiger is not exactly cheap, compared to the other WST G1 combiners... But it certainly is worth it... Cos:

(i) There is no official such size! You can never find it in the official toy line!
(ii) How to find an official Kabaya Kit for Build Force? Dun think it ever came up with it...
(iii) Relatively cheap, compared to most official toys...
(iv) Hours of grumbling, sweating, fingers-stick-with-super-glue, ... and FUN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Update : KO Kabaya Assembled - Legends (Movie) Barricade

Yeap, as usual, hands are itchy... and also want to de-stress... yes, very stressed out in work... (will de-stress in another blog... ) so decided to build another of the KO Kabaya kit... this time, Legends (Movie) Barricade... Robot mode is not bad...not bad at all! ... Vehicle mode not so good though... sides of the car (arms) cannot align... need to tighten the body swivel joint... perhaps tighten arms too...

Vehicle mode... notice the side panels (arms) not aligned... Neat little figure though...

The all familiar Barricade... details are amazing... "Are you Ladies Man %$*&?!!!! Answer me!!!.... Where are the glasses??!!!!"....

"All Hail Megatron!!!"

I actually broke the ball joint pin of 1 of the legs.... and luckily my Plastics Glue come to the rescue! And I can't believe how STRONG the joint is... just 1 drop (and a little extra ooze out and form a additional layer round the broken ring) and the pin is like it has never been broken before... Amazing Plastics Glue......

Size comparison with another earlier KO Kabaya, Ariel (Paradron Type)...

Wow...$1.50 for a legends figure... minus the colour, but added TONS of fun in building.... not to mention a Flaming version somemore... In fact, $1.50 is VERY worth.... Yes, I definitely like this compare to spending $$$ on the encore minibots, or the legends figure... Its the fun that counts...

Manage to resist the temptation of building the Super Build Tiger team... can't wait to lay my hands on them.... Till next time...

Update : KO Kabaya Assembled - Ariel (Paradron Type)

Last night I was bored and started to fix up some overly simplified parts for Super Build Tiger... managed to fixed Power Joe's head, which is moulded to another part instead of being swivelled from the body...

Then decides to just stick Dumpson's head permanent to 1 side of the body as it makes no hindrance to forming (Super) Build Tiger... and no difference cos head wil not be hidden fully anyway, even in the original one...

Finally, decided to make the arms for Ariel, as the original has the arms moulded... Outcome looks like this pic below...Have to use the other kits socketsas the sockets I make on the Ariel's arms are not tight... Not too bad, looks like booster in vehicle mode...

Added fist to the arms...

This is how the arm looks in robot mode...

Then hands get itchy, and start to built the kit.... and it took damn long.. too complicated parts to fix with lousy instructions (need to use my old oversized KO Arcee for reference), pins canot fit, moving joints too tight (unimaginable in KO Kabaya kits), etc... took some pics just now...

Robot mode...

Perhaps is the small size, but it certainly looks much better than the oversized version...

Update : KO Kabaya Assembled - Cliffjumper / Brawn

My hands went itchy last night, and I cannot help but assemble the 2 of the KO Kabaya kits I bought recently... And I am thrilled! So, presenting toy you.... (G1) Cliffjumper and Brawn!

They are the key-chain versions, with little hooks to hold keys.. I wouldn't do that though...
Vehicle modes below.... (Cliffjumper - left; Brawn - right)

Transform! Brawn (left) and Cliffjumper (right)...
*NOTE : I mis-assemble the arms of Cliffjumper, so they are shown opposite in all the pictures here, I have since make swapped them.

(1) Cliffjumper
Ok, I first thought of only trimming the sprues, but in the end, cannot resist the temptations of assembling... very neat little car, most parts are tight, something quite unusual for a KO Kabaya... though I may use the new plastic glue to just thicken the diameter for 1 of the arm swivel-joint pin...

Notice the face really resembles that of the Classics Bumblebee's? Very nice... and best thing, it is red, like the original colour! Hahaha....

(2) Brawn
Look at the extremely details of moulding... Took a long time assembling this little piece, cos, the instructions was wrong... Have to check out the Internet for pics...

Arms are VERY tight! But the legs are loose, due to the 2 halves of the bodies, that has a slot to slide and swivel the leg joints, are not accurate when joined, with surplus that blocks the slot from being close together. So I trim and test, trim and test... then they get a bit loose... may need to use the plastic glue to make the top part of the slot smaller, and join the body really tight together... but overall, very neat little figure!

Size comparison with the a authentic G1 Bumblebee (also key-chain version)... Same size! No reduction!

Reunion of the Minibots!
Can't wait to get my hands to work on the others....

Side-Tracked: Recent Haul of KOs (5)

Was raining yesterday, so ferry my colleague down the street to his house so he will not get drenched. Then 顺便 turn over to the ... dunno wat place lah, in Tampines... Jalan jalan... then saw these KO Kabaya kits! Ok, so the front graphics doesn't show what is inside the package, but you can look at the back to check what it is...

(1) Remoulded Animated Bulkhead
Legends sized. I am not sure whether I want to bash this into a more Animated looking one... still pending... the head is a bit too big, and the robot mode is entirely different...

EDIT:
I have since decided to use his parts to make Ariel (Paradrone Type)'s arms, which I carved them out (they are moulded to the motorcycle body as 1 piece)... So its bye bye Bulkhead...

(2) G1 Minibot Cliffjumper
Man, I am lucky, found a red Cliffjumper! Which means it is nearer to the original one!

(3) G1 Minibot Brawn
Hahaha, this robot mode is so weird, was tempted to not buy it, but after some considerations (nostalgic feelings), I decide to get it...

(4) Energon Arcee
Female transformers never did catch my attention... So why did I buy this? Well, at then when I was squatting down uncomfortably and flipping the packs ferociously, I thought it was Lugnutz... Nevermind, most likely I will turn it into... Ariel (Paradron Type)... colour similar...

(5) Legends Movie Barricade
Neat little figure, I think I will keep the sharp pointed knife-hands, instead of scouting small hands for it...

Next 4 are my favourites, cos I happen to see this set in 1 forum... I was thinking to myself, man, I gotta get this if I can... and lucky enough, I manage to get all 4 pieces of it... Who is it?.... It's...

(6) SUPER BUILD TIGER !!!!!!!!!!!
And the best thing is, I GOT ALL THE SAME IN RED COLOUR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sweeeeet.... Flaming Super Build Tiger... Hope the individual bots can transform.... looks like they can, cos they also got the little heads and arms...

(i) Drill Boy

(ii) Mac Crane

(iii) Dumpson

EDIT:
Dumpson's head is simplified: it has a pin as a neck to push into a hole (1/2 depression on both sides of each half of the body, as the body needs to split to form Build Tiger's legs)
(iv) Power Joe

... Can't wait to get these fixed up...
